Who We Are
Our History
The market decline in 1987 prompted Plan B's founders, Bryan Taylor and Craig Lubich, to create a new type of financial advisory business.
Witnessing a lack of empathy for the plight of clients by institutions focused on transactions, they saw an opportunity to provide client-focused wealth management solutions on a fee-for-service basis to help clients achieve their lifetime goals.
A master trust structure was purchased in 1993 to administer client holdings more effectively. This still forms the basis for the flexible platform on which Plan B operates today.
Pooled and diversified investment funds were introduced in 1995 to enhance investment efficiency. In 2002, Plan B moved from traditional actively managed funds to asset class management, with a focus on minimising costs and optimising tax management. This has delivered better investment performance for clients, with less risk and greater certainty.
In 2003, Plan B developed and introduced ‘True North' financial engineering software, which combines Modern Portfolio Theory and Monte Carlo simulation to assist clients in determining their financial and lifestyle goals.
Many years have passed since then, but Plan B's fundamental values and commitment to the interests of our clients remain the same.
